Eligibility

Bihar-resident BC / EBC students studying after Class 10 in a recognised institution; family income and minimum-marks rules apply

Amounts, income limit and dates change every year — read the notice on the portal before applying. Applying does not guarantee payment: the institute and the District Nodal Officer must verify the application.

How to apply — step by step

   Make sure your institute and course are already registered on the portal (ask the college office).

   Open pmsonline.bih.nic.in and choose 'Student Registration'.

   Register with your name, mobile number and e-mail; you will get your login details by SMS / e-mail.

   Log in, fill in the application form (personal, bank, course and family-income details) and click Save.

   Upload scanned documents in the size / PDF format shown on the portal.

   Finalise the application, take a print-out and submit it (with copies of documents, if asked) to your institute.

   The institute and District Nodal Officer verify it; track the status by logging in. Payment comes to your Aadhaar-linked bank account.

Documents you will need

• Aadhaar card
• Passport-size photograph
• Bank passbook (Aadhaar-linked account in the student's name)
• Mark sheet of the last exam
• Bihar residence / domicile certificate
• Caste certificate (if applying for a category scheme)
• Income certificate (latest)
• Bonafide / admission proof and fee receipt from the institution
